After a recent conversation with my older brother, I discovered that I am surprisingly large. According to him, my mom was MUCH smaller than I am when she was pregnant. Fighting back tears, given the emotional roller coaster of my current state, I decided rather than take offense, I would simply prove him wrong. Okay, actually, I didn't feel like crying and wasn't the least bit offended, but I did find it funny and thought it'd be nice to take him up on his "challenge" and see just how big my own mother was when she was pregnant.
This quest proved only one thing... My mother is gorgeous! She even makes pregnancy look like pages from a model's portfolio. So... whether or not she truly managed the weight of pregnancy better than I am, it's just fun to see what she looked like when she was starting her family.

You are just as gorgeous as your mother! I could only WISH to look that cute when 8 months pregnant! I looked like a beached whale! Oh, and tell your brother he is wrong!
Haha! Thanks Lezhai... but I highly doubt you ever looked anything but absolutely gorgeous yourself! It's just not possible ;) I sure do feel like a beached whale though... takes me forever to roll over.
good luck! so you are moving again in summer! stay warm and have a beautiful baby girl! you look wonderful! =)
love, Abbey
Ach, T-boy was just guessing, Emily. Another way to say, "Wow." (Though, we roll our eyes, don't we?) Anyhoo, I agree that Mom is a model. So are you. I'm curious, was Mom eight months pregnant in each of these lovely photos?
I agree with Lezahi. You are BEAUTIFUL! I thought you looked so pretty. I on the other hand looked like a bloated fish. But my babies were so darling. Dont be hard on yourself. You are just amazing.
To answer Molly's question (which I probably should have included in the post... oops):
First picture... 8 months pregnant
Second picture... 5 months pregnant
Third picture... 7 months pregnant
Me... 8 months pregnant
Yipee!! We're gonna have a baby!!
I like that.
Oh, my goodness. It is a wonderful entry!! This is by far my favorite. It is so beautiful to see the continuity of generation. I am crying right now... You are indeed like Mom. Your title, "Like Mother, Like Daughter... I wish" should be "Like Mother, Like Daughter... and proud of it!"
Emily, you did a wonderful job taking care of yourself and the baby. You did exactly what Mom did. Men knows very little what takes to be pregnant. :)
And the pictures are fabulous!!
You're the same size. And both pretty.
I hadn't seen two of these shots of mom. She is indeed beautiful. Needless to say why she produced such lovely looking children, with dad naturally :)
I found the girls sucked me dry, and took all the looks for themselves, the boys were much kinder. Though I will say the last one (a boy) left my hair falling out at fast rates, for over a year.
Brothers are great for telling us things that play on our minds. My middle brother excels at it. I always know when I'm fat or look crap etc.... he's right there to remind me!
However in this case, T-boy was just shocked to finally see a sister pregnant with a belly at last(hooray). After only ever seeing Emily slim. Now she's just slim with a bump.
Twas a good thing. There's no point being pregnant and not seeing the baby, that takes the joy out of it.
We are all excited to have the new addition to the family in hopefully under a month.
Another good looking one ;)
Oh, Emily. I saw you in person (pictures always add weight) and I thought you looked in great shape! You are so far along, of COURSE you're huge. Looking at the picture of you and me side by side though - well, I am way bigger than you, so you must be doing something right that I'm not! lol! Or, maybe we just carry our babies differently. Who knows!
Anyway, who cares what brothers think? They'll never have to be pregnant, so I think they're opinions should be void. ;-)
You know, I probably should have been kinder and left my brother's comment out of it. It's just so much fun giving brothers a hard time when they stick their foot in their mouths. Don't worry, bro. Like Sharole said, makes perfect sense that it'd be a complete surprise seeing a sister at the end of her pregnancy.
Sarah... you certainly looked amazing when I saw you in person (even if you don't like pregnant pictures of yourself). This is my first, which makes a difference when it comes to size. Keep that in mind. I think it's wonderful being big and beautiful. There are just those occasional FOM (freaked out moments) when you have to reassure yourself that you won't be this size forever. :)
Beautiful mom; beautiful daughter. Remember that I just saw you less than a month ago, and you.are.gorgeous. Mostly, you looked healthy and happy.
Cand ajunge bebelusul?
I miss you and think about you a lot. How is life? How is SUA?
You're killin' me with the lack of updates! Baby is just around the corner and I'm dyin' to know how things are going. The last month (for me anyway) was terrible. Hopefully you're fairing well.
